Scott Short and his wife Anna Jane Short.
Scott Short b. 1830, immigrated from Ireland 1851, naturalized US citizen 1860. Fought in the Civil War. Naturalization papers from Fulton Co, IL.
The 1860 US Census records have Scott Short, 25 yrs old and wife Anna; born in Ireland, living in Farmington, Fulton, Illinois in the year 1860, immediately next to John Dunn, wife Elizabeth Dunn and family. All of the children's names indicate that this is our John Thomas Dunn.
The 1870 US Census records have Scott Short, 35 yrs. old, wife Anna living in Maquon, Knox, Illinois; both born in Ireland. Children Sarah(11), Amos(9), William(4) and Minnie (2) born in Illinois.
The 1900 US Census has Scott Shortt and wife Anna J Shortt (both born in Ireland) living in Farmington, Fulton, Illinois. Daughter Effie is 20 yrs of age.
